Donor gives GRPS first graders new books

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - First graders in Grand Rapids are getting a new book today, courtesy of an anonymous donor.

This is the third year in a row the first graders in the Grand Rapids Public Schools system have been given a hardcover book.

This year, they were given "They All Saw A Cat" by Brenden Wenzel. Wenzel spoke to students at Shawmut Hills Elementary Tuesday, Nov. 1, by Skype during the book distribution.

The books themselves were bought through Scheuler's Books at a discounted rate.
