GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - For the first time ever -- Grand Rapids Christian Schools parents, students and staff celebrated the start of the new school year with EagleFest!
The event was held Tuesday evening at Eagles Stadium, although students started classes nearly three weeks ago.
Everyone was able to enjoy a barbeque dinner, as well as lawn games and activities for the children on the newly installed turf.
"We've always wanted to bring our school community together for something fun and festive, the stadium is a perfect place to do that," said Grand Rapids Christian Schools Superintendent Tom DeJong. "Lots of places to reacquaint with old friends, and meet new friends, and just have everybody feel like they're a part of the Grand Rapids Christian Schools community."
The event also marked the public launch of the school's new $5 million capital campaign entitled "G-R-C-S 20/20 - Preserving a Vital Purpose."
