GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - To College, Through College a collaborative effort to get students of color to college, opened their studio inside the Grand Rapids Public Library, Monday, Nov. 14.
The initiative also known as T2C is a program to help students apply to college and then assist them in succeeding throughout college, as well.
This project started with former Mayor George Heartwell who appeared at the end of the event to provide his praise for how far the program has come since it started three years ago. Heartwell said the community was the one thing missing in bridging the gap between high school students to college.
The group that fueled this is a combination of city leaders, school district representatives, students as well as college partners from 10 different college campuses.
Collaborators signed their names as a sign of their recommitment to the T2C initiative, to conclude the event.
