Explosion starts fire at Grand Rapids apartment

GRAND RAPIDS, (WZZM) - A fire at an apartment complex in Grand Rapids began some resident heard a large explosion.

The fire started around 5:15 p.m. at the building located at 133 Union Street. All seven apartments had to be evacuated.

Firefighters say the explosion occurred on the first floor. An exact cause of the explosion is not known, but police have been called in to investigate

None of the residents were injured.
