GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - Kent County Health Department is offering free walk-in appointments for HIV testing Nov. 28 - Dec 2, 2016.
HIV testing is always free, but this week Kent County residents looking to get tested do not have to schedule an appointment.
One in eight people who have HIV do not know they are infected. The disease can make it difficult for someone to fight off colds and other illnesses, and if not treated, can develop into AIDS--which can be deadly.
With treatment, a person with HIV could live a long life.
The testing will take place at the Kent County Health Department's main clinic on Fuller Road. You can walk in anytime between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
