BELMONT, Mich. (WZZM) -- A big victory in the World Cup for Germany Tuesday, as the Germans beat Brazil in a major upset, 7-1.
It's Germany's first trip to the World Cup finals in 24 years.
It just so happens that 23 German citizens were in West Michigan watching and celebrating the big win.
Four German teachers and 19 students were all hanging out at Flo's Restaurant in Belmont Tuesday afternoon.
They're part of an exchange program that has them travelling across the country. They planned on visiting Grand Haven State Park, but rain postponed their trip.
It turns out that rain wiped out a party back home, too.
"The big public viewing in our capital is closed today, 'cause there are storms and wind -- so we can't watch it anyways," one explained.
The German students now plan to head to the beach Wednesday.
