Grand Rapids shooting suspect arrested in Battle Creek

BATTLE CREEK, MICH. - Police in Battle Creek have arrested a man wanted for shooting a woman in Grand Rapids. 

Grand Rapids police tell us the arrest is related to a shooting that happened Saturday, March 11 near the intersection of Elizabeth Avenue and Richmond Street. 

A 22-year-old woman was shot in the stomach and taken to the hospital where she is said to be in stable condition and recovering. 

According to police, the suspect is a 29-year-old and he is expected to arraigned as early as Friday on charges of a felon in possession of a firearm

Police were initially looking for three suspects in the shooting. There is no word at this time about the other suspects involved.
