Worker dies after falling 30 feet

LUDINGTON, MICH. - On Wednesday, a worker at the Ludington Water Treatment Plant fell through a skylight on the roof, down about 3 stories and died. 

According to the Ludington Police Department, around 5:30 p.m., 20-year-old Kevin Martinez, of Grand Rapids, had fallen through a skylight on the roof of the water plant and landed on the clarifier floor, about 30-feet down. 

Martinez was taken to the Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital. He was flown to the Spectrum Butterworth in Grand Rapids where he died. 

Police say an autopsy is scheduled for Thursday by the Kent County Medical Examiner's Office to confirm how Martinez died.
