Michigan passes breast density bill

(WZZM) - Today is our 13 Friends for Life Day and remember to call, text, email, Facebook or tweet your "friend for life" and remind them to: know their normal, get a mammogram, and do a self breast exam.

Today, we're going to talk about something that many women have, dense breasts, and how they can lead to an increased risk for cancer.

The good news is, after months of debate, the state of Michigan finally passed the Breast Density Bill that requires physicians to inform patients they have dense breasts at the time of their mammography.

Dr. Jessica Keto from Mercy Health Saint Mary's Comprehensive Breast Centers discusses the issue with Valerie Lego on WZZM 13 News.
