Republican governors urge Congress to drop proposed Obamacare replacement

Rep. governors want to scrap Obamacare replacement

A group of Republican governors -- including Rick Snyder of Michigan -- are pushing Congressional leaders to scrap their proposal to repeal and replace Obamacare, and start over.

The governors sent a letter to Congressional Republicans this week, saying the GOP measure, in its current form, "provides almost no new flexibility for states, fails to ensure enough resources to protect vulnerable residents, and shifts significant new costs to states."

The governors are presenting their own version of a bill, written by Ohio governor and former congressman John Kasich. Like the House plan, it calls for fundamental changes to Medicaid. but states would have many more options.
