MOO-Ville issues voluntary milk recall

The recalled products have a "best by" date of 11/10 or 11/14.

NASHVILLE, MICH. - MOO-Ville products including whole, skim, and chocolate milk have been recalled "out of an abundance of caution."

During a routine dairy plant inspection, the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development discovered a problem in relation to product testing required by a federal ordinance.

The recalled products have not been associated with any illnesses. The full list of recalled products all have a "Best by" date of Nov. 10 or Nov. 14:

  • Mooville 2% Reduced Fat Cream Line Milk (gallon size plastic jugs);
  • Mooville Whole Milk (gallon and half-gallon plastic jugs);
  • Mooville 2% Reduced Fat Milk (gallon, half-gallon and pint jugs);
  • Mooville Skim Milk (gallon and half-gallon plastic jugs);
  • Mooville Chocolate Milk (gallon, half-gallon and pint jugs);
  • Horrocks brand Whole Milk (gallon plastic jugs) – sold only at Grand Rapids and Battle Creek stores
  • Horrocks brand 2% Reduced Fat Milk (gallon plastic jugs) – sold only at Grand Rapids and Battle Creek stores
  • Horrocks brand Skim Milk (gallon plastic jugs) – sold only at Grand Rapids and Battle Creek stores

Recalled products can be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund or replacement. Questions can be directed to Doug Westendorp at 269838-7001.

WZZM 13 spoke to Westendorp early Saturday about the voluntary recall.  He wants to assure consumers MOO-ville's milk is safe to drink.
