Source of Calhoun County man's Thallium poisoning still unknown

Thalium poisoning source unknown

BATTLE CREEK, MICH. - Investigators in Battle Creek said they cannot find the source of a Calhoun County man's Thallium poisoning. Stephen Anderson, 41, fell ill in early August.

He was in critical condition at the onset of the poisoning. Thallium is a toxic metal once used in rat poisoning and banned in the 1970's. After searching multiple locations, investigators have not been able to determine where the toxin came from. They did not find any signs of meth production at his home, and no signs of the toxic metal at his job.
The Calhoun County Sheriff's Department says Anderson's  condition has not improved enough to help them with the investigation.
