Holland City Manager resigns, will remain a consultant until next year

HOLLAND, MICH. - Holland's City Council announced today that the City Manager, Ryan Cotton, will be resigning from his position -- effective at the end of the month.

According to a news release from the city of Holland, Cotton's contract ends on June 30. He has served at the city manager since 2012. 

Although he will no longer be city manager, Cotton will remain a consultant for the city until June of next year.

Matt Messer, Holland's current Public Safety Chief, will become the interim city manager. The City Council will begin a national search for a permanent city management team.
