Korean War veteran's memorial signs, American flags stolen from yard

Vets flags stolen from yard

COMSTOCK PARK, MICH - A local veteran, who served in the Korean War, says someone stole the signs and American flags on display from his yard.

Glen Bailey displays his Korean War Memorial sign outside his home in Comstock Park -- saying it serves as a reminder of a military conflict that is often overlooked. He also had American flags on display, but someone stole them late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

"They were there last night and this morning they're gone" Bailey explained. "We went and fought for this country and they disgrace the flag and the veterans that fought, and got Purple Hearts -- I earned mine."

Bailey say he's filed a police report about the missing flags with the Kent County Sheriff's Department. If anyone has any information about the incident, they are urged to contact the authorities.
