Local sports grille gears up for football season

Football season and restaurant business

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - It's not only the fans that are pumped for football season. Local sports bars are preparing for a spike in guests for both college and NFL games.

Almost every table was filled Friday night, as MSU fans flocked to Peppino's to watch Michigan State take on Furman.

General Manager Jacob Durso said between the 70 plus big screen TVs', a wide variety of draft beers and good food, Peppino's is a fan favorite. This time of year is certainly one of the busiest for the local hotspot.

"We'll start with football season and then move on into hockey and Griffin season, it's going to be a great winter and fall for us so we're excited. Best pizza in town, draft beer galore we got TV's everywhere, it's a nice stadium environment and it really brings everybody in the crowd together so it's always a good time," Durso said.

Despite the holiday weekend, Durso said the place is packed and full of energy which he expects will set the tone for the rest of the season.
