GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - There's a saying: This world is but a canvas to our imagination. Children from a Grand Rapids elementary schools used their imaginations to make their school a prettier place.

Students from Congress Elementary, located on the corner of Baldwin and Diamond, are working with Richard App Gallery to paint a mural on the wall of the school. They started the painting process on Thursday.

The mural's theme -- "The Best School in the Universe -- will feature images of the school and other recognizable buildings in the East Hills neighborhood.

A grant from the Herman Miller Cares program helped make the project possible, but according to school officials, this is only phase one. Additional work above the doors and windows  of the school has been planned for this summer.
