Family dinner ends with man punching daughter

BATTLE CREEK, MICH. - A Battle Creek man, 77, was arrested after Battle Creek police were called to his home in the 200 block of Snow Avenue in Bedford Township at 5:37 p.m. Monday.

The man's daughter, 53, from San Diego, Calif. said she was punched in the mouth during an argument at the dinner table. The woman said she and her father were arguing about her childhood and how she was raised.

She said he stood and she then stood and raised her fists in a boxing stance and he punched her in the mouth. He said they argued and both stood and when his daughter took a fighting stance he thought she was about to hit him so he punched her in the mouth.

The woman told police as she was packing to go back to California and would not be attending any court sessions for her father.
