Man critically hurt after shooting in large crowd

BATTLE CREEK, MICH. - A 31-year-old man is in critical but stable condition at a Kalamazoo hospital after a shooting police say happened in a large crowd early Wednesday, July 5.

Officers were called out just after midnight to a home near the corner of Oaklawn Avenue and Howland Street.

When they arrived on the scene they found the man who had been shot in the stomach. He was on the steps of a home at the time.

Police are investigating leads in the case. If you have any information you're asked to call the Battle Creek Police Department or Silent Observer.
