Man uses bat to smash car, arrested when cocaine is found in his car

BATTLE CREEK, MICH. - A 25-year-old Battle Creek man was arrested on a charge of possession of cocaine and a warrant could be sought for malicious destruction of property after Battle Creek police said he struck a vehicle twice with a bat and then was found with cocaine in his car.

Police were called at 4 a.m. Tuesday after a man, 29, delivering the Battle Creek Enquirer said the other man struck his vehicle twice with a bat.

The victim said he was approached near Woodrow Avenue and Ingram Street by a man he knows. He said the man struck his vehicle with a bat. The driver left but saw the same man near Burr Street and Beckman Avenue and the same thing happened.

The driver left again and called police. Officers stopped the car in the 200 block of Capital Avenue Southwest and said they found cocaine in the car.
