Addix All-Star Game

CALEDONIA, MICH. - Looking for something to do tonight? Look no further than the Addix All-Star Game at Davenport University.

The second-annual football game begins at 7 p.m. on June 9 at the Farmer's Insurance Athletic Complex in Caledonia.

According to a press release, the game is being used to generate awareness and funds for the free cancer and grief support programs offered through Gilda's Club Grand Rapids.

If you go, you are invited to bring a message or photo of a person you are connected to who has encountered a cancer or grief journey and post it on the honor boards, which will be on display in the stadium.

A $10 donation is required for entry to the game. All proceeds will go directly to Gilda's Club Grand Rapids.

The Stars football team will be coached by Irv Sigler of Belding High School, Craig Tibbe of the Hudsonville Unity Christian High School and Ben Burke of Allendale High School. The Stripes team will be coached by John Shillito of Zeeland West High School, Tom Burrill of Caledonia High School and Tim Swore of Northpointe Christian High School.

The game will also feature cheerleading programs from Grandville and Lowell high schools.

Between all the athletes participating, more than 50 local communities will be represented in the 2017 All Star Game.
