Grand Valley State Univeristy hosts town hall for Sexual Assault Awareness month

ALLENDALE, MICH. - As part of Sexual Assault Awareness month, Grand Valley State University held a town hall event to focus on the topic.

The event Tuesday, April 4, hosted by the Student Senate and Division of Inclusion and Equality, was all about campus safety. It's intended to be a follow-up to a similar discussion held in September.

That was organized after four off-campus sexual assaults were reported to Ottawa County officials.

"... We want to have a respectful conversation but also just wanted to raise awareness about the great things we're working to do to educate, to bring about awareness, to do all of those different things (on the issue)," said Ella Fritzemeier, the GVSU Student Senate president.
