One Good Thing: Ionia life savers

Nick's One Good Thing

IONIA, MICH. - If you follow my Facebook page, you know I post positive impact stories about West Michigan all the time in my "One Good Thing" franchise -- a feel-good story to break away from car accidents, house fires and politics.

Well, we are taking this to TV now -- but, I need your help.

If you see a neighbor kid running a lemonade stand with plans to donate the money he makes or a cop playing basketball with some teenagers -- take some pictures or videos and send an email to onegoodthing@wzzm13.com.

Here's a perfect example: Paul messaged me about a Facebook post by the Ionia Department of Public Safety. At the Ionia Free Fair a few days ago, the DPS honored six people with "Life Saver" awards. On July 15, Charlene Austin had a heart attack. Six people saved her life -- five of whom were pictured receiving their awards at the fair.

According to the post, Charlene even got the chance to meet her life-savers.

I've said it before and I'll continue to say it: West Michigan is full of "One Good Things," and I'm going to share them with you, one story at a time.
