Spotlight on Grand Rapids Racial Equity Network

Grand Rapids leaders hope a community meeting today will help make the city more welcoming and inclusive.

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - A little over a week ago, Grand Rapids Mayor, Rosalynn Bliss posted an open letter to her followers on Facebook.

In it, she expressed her wishes for unity and named the Grand Rapids Racial Equity Network as a potential solution for becoming a more "welcoming and inclusive community."

This afternoon, a diverse group of newcomers showed up to the Greater Grand Rapids Racial Equity Network's monthly meeting.  Attendance more than tripled typical numbers.

According to their Facebook page, GGRREN is "committed to eliminating racialized outcomes in greater Grand Rapids."
