COMSTOCK PARK, MICH. - Power slowly is being restored to Consumers Energy customers following a power outage that left more than 3,500 people in the dark.
The outage, affecting residents in Comstock Park and Alpine Township, happened just before 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 9. Spokesman Roger Morgenstern said crews continue to work on figuring out why it occurred.
As of 2:30 p.m., fewer than 800 people are without power.
An early restoration time is listed as 3 p.m. on the utility's online outage map; that might change, however Morgenstern said.
"This could be an equipment issue, but we're not sure, yet," Morgenstern said.
