COOPERSVILLE, MICH. - New information from police Friday, Oct. 14, gives more details about the charges against four men accused of poaching nearly 60 ducks in Ottawa County.
Authorities say the men used 200 pounds of corn to use as bait to lure and shoot the birds near a private pond in Coopersville.
The men now face charges of using the bait, taking over the allowed limit of waterfowl and having a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle.
If convicted, the men could be fined $29,000 in restitution. All four will be in court on Oct. 23.
