MCC hosts Open House for stranded students

COOPERSVILLE, MICH. - A West Michigan college held an open house Tuesday night. The event hosted by Muskegon Community College was for students that attended ITT Tech.

ITT Technical Institute abruptly closed down last week after the Department of education cut federal student aid to the school.

Muskegon Community College will help students transfer their credits and waive some fees.  And after what happened to ITT Tech, they want to make sure they are doing everything by the book.

"We focus on compliance, we are in the near future going to hire a compliance officer, a person that will focus on nothing but compliance," says MCC's vice-president.

ITT Tech operated more than 140 campuses nationwide.
