Seafood and southern restaurant opens in Gaslight Village

New southern dining in east Grand Rapids

EAST GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - They call themselves "The Three Amigos," and a group of local restaurateurs is bringing southern-style cooking to Gaslight Village.

Carolina Lowcountry Kitchen are holding a grand opening ceremony on Wednesday, June 28. A ribbon cutting is scheduled for 5 p.m. 20 percent of the proceeds will go to Gilda's Club Grand Rapids.

The restaurant opened earlier in the month, led by Brienne Postema, Mike Wagner and Tom Pugh. They love oysters and thought the menu would go over well in metro Grand Rapids.

They even traveled to South Carolina last year to research this type of fare. However, they say they will add a little Michigan flair to that southern cooking.
