Bissell raises $677,000 at annual Blocktail Party

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - The BISSELL Pet Foundation held their annual Blocktail Party at Mangiamo! on Tuesday, June 13.

A record of $677,000 was raised at the event. The money will support lifesaving efforts for animal welfare organizations and Empty The Shelters free adoption events.

"All proceeds from Blocktail go directly to pets in need and with this year's results, we can save even more lives." says Co-creator of BISSELL Blocktail Party, Cathy Bissell.

"We are so grateful for everyone who believes in our mission and joins us to make Blocktail's success possible!" she says.

Attendance was also at it's highest since the event started 12 years ago. Organizers said nearly 1000 partygoers and their furry friends played in pools, made doggie bandanas and enjoyed 'yappetizers'.

Grand Rapids restaurant Mangiamo! transformed their lawn into a puppy paradise. Pets could have their caricatures drawn by a local 2010 ArtPrize winner. Dogs could have their tarot cards read as well.
