GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - Maybe it's a sign of how in demand apartment housing is in West Michigan. Or maybe it's just a sign of something exciting coming to Grand Rapids' Eastown neighborhood.
No matter how you look at it, one thing is for sure: the people behind the new Fulton Square building are already seeing success ahead of their grand opening ceremony.
According to the facility's public relations coordinator, Jason Wheeler, people started moving into Building A last month. Building B was just finished two weeks ago and now people are starting to move in.
"Fulton Square is already at 75 percent occupancy so the leasing side of things has been hugely successful," Wheeler said in an e-mail.
The $9.6 million building will also be home to retail and restaurant space.
Leaders from Orion Construction, Orion Real Estate Solutions, the City of Grand Rapids and the State of Michigan will be on hand for the grand opening at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18.
Fulton Square is at the corner of Fulton Street and Carlton Avenue. That lot was previously vacant.
