GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - A Grand Rapids officer killed in the line of duty more than 9 years ago will soon be honored with a new memorial.
The city commission approved a resolution Tuesday, Nov. 15, to designate a stretch of Tamarack Avenue in honor of fallen officer Bob Kozminski.
Kozminski, 29 years old at the time and a 7-year veteran of the department, was shot and killed in the line of duty in July 2007. The name "Officer Bob Kozminski Way" will be added from Leonard Street to Richmond Avenue.
The city is building a fallen officers memorial in Richmond Park, and it will include an image of officer Kozminski.
