Rosa Parks Circle Ice Rink delays opening

The ice rink was supposed to open on Friday, but warm temperatures delayed it until today.

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - Rosa Parks Circle Ice Rink was scheduled to open today, Nov. 24 at 5 p.m.

But due to the warm weather, the opening has been delayed until Saturday, Nov. 25 at 12 p.m., as long as the weather cooperates.

This year's Black Friday weather was particularly warm, reaching 58 degrees. Saturday should be cooler with temperatures falling into the mid to upper 30s by sunset.

Once the ice rink opens, it will remain open until early March. After opening at 12 p.m. on Saturday, it will be open daily from 10 a.m.-9:45 p.m.  For more information on when the ice rink is open, go to the City of Grand Rapids' website

Admission to the ice skating rink is $1 for youth and $3 for adults. Skate rental is free with admission.

On Friday, Dec. 1, there will also be a special tree lighting ceremony happening at Rosa Parks Circle from 5-7 p.m.
