Salvation Army offers help signing up for federal payment plan

Salvation Army offering help with electric bills

GRAND RAPIDS - The Salvation Army is helping people with trouble making utility payments sign up for relief.  On Monday staff members were at the Kroc Center to help people enroll in an affordable payment plan.  They will also be at the Kroc Center next Monday April 24, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The payment plan would reduce monthly energy bills and forgive overdue balances.  Applicants need to have a household income that is under 150% of the Federal Poverty Level.  That is currently $36,450 for a family of four.  They need to bring documentation of all sources of income over the previous 45 days, show a current utility bill in the applicants name, provide proof of identification, along with a social security card and social security numbers for everyone living in the home.

Anyone with questions about the event may call The Salvation Army Call Center at (855) 929-1640.
