Spring break fun at the Grand Rapids Art Museum

(WZZM) - If you're staying in town for spring break, there are some extra activities available at the Grand Rapids Art Museum.

Altered Photography classes teach contemporary photo and composition methods, and you can learn how to make your own pinhole camera. Those classes are Tuesday and Wednesday (April 8 & 9) 9 a.m.- noon.

A more child-friendly atmosphere will be found at the "Staycation" class on Friday, April 11, 9 a.m.-noon. In this class, parents and children work collaboratively to create a collage inspired by different time periods, locations, and settings of images presented from around the world.

The activity plans are inspired by the exhibition, Legacy: The Emily Fisher Landau Collection, which is on display now through the end of the month. The exhibition art comes from the Whitney in New York City, and includes pieces by Cy Twombly, Andy Warhol, Barbara Kruger, and other contemporary artists. Most art is child-friendly, but some pieces have an adult theme.
