'20 Monroe Live' set to open in 90 days next to The B.O.B.

'The Venue' slated to open in 90 days

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - Grand Rapids' newest downtown attraction, "20 Monroe Live", will open its doors in just 90 days, with concerts already scheduled for February.

The arena district facility has direct access to The B.O.B. on the second floor and can seat up to 2,000 people. The venue is expected to hold around 200 concerts and events each year.

In addition to the concert space, a beer garden that will seat up to another 500 people and special VIP rooms will be added.

"Chicago and Detroit always brings in regularly big entertainment but it's always passed by Grand Rapids because their wasn't a venue that bridged the gap between the Van Andel Arena and Devos Hall," said the Gilmore Collection's Chief Executive Greg Gilmore. "Well, now we have that venue."

20 Monroe Live's newest partner is the House of Blue's Live Nation.

The company will employ 150 people to bring new sounds and displays to downtown Grand Rapids.
