Man arrested in sting claims medical marijuana license

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Police used a robot while executing a search warrant on a suspected drug house Wednesday morning.

Officers surrounded a house in the 3000 block of Dean Lake Road around 8 a.m. Two people were believed to be inside but only one person was found.

Police say the second person believed to be inside had outstanding warrants and they were worried about a possibly confrontation. A SWAT robot was deployed as a precaution, but the second suspect was not located.

The suspect taken into custody claimed to have a valid medical marijuana license.

Authorities say the search warrant execution posed no threat to the community and the investigation is ongoing.
