GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - The first of six Grand Rapids parks to undergo reconstruction in 2016 opened Friday, Oct. 14.
Mary Waters Park officially reopened after completion of nearly $800,000 in renovations, according to a press release.
The new park amenities include a splashpad, picnic shelter, restroom facility, landscaping, walking path and new site furnishings. Parking lot enhancements also were part of the reconstruction.
The remaining five parks: Campau, Camelot, Douglas, Dickinson and Mulick, will have grand re-openings in the coming weeks.
