GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - Over the next few years, Grand Rapids has a goal of a 40 percent tree canopy and to achieve that, every year hundreds of trees will be planted all over the city.
This year's planting took place on Friday, Oct. 28, at eight locations around the city as part of Mayor Rosalynn Bliss' "Greening Initiative."
In addition to making Grand Rapids a greener city, the program hopes to increase our city's livability and build on the growth and development that Grand Rapids has seen in recent years.
Help spread the word of this new tradition and making a Greener Grand Rapids with #GreenUpGR!
