Police: Man critically injured after car falls on him, drags him, during repairs

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - Grand Rapids police describe the man's condition as critical but hopeful, after a car fell on top of him and dragged about 10 feet. 

The incident happened at 9:33 a.m. Thursday, July 6 on the 3200 block of Plainfield Ave. NE at a hotel parking lot in the area. 

According to a release from GRPD, two men were attempting to repair the vehicle’s transmission, when the car lunged forward, slipping off the jack and one of the men was then dragged. 

Police say the man who was injured is 50 years old and from Houston, Texas. The victim was taken to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.
