GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- Grand Rapids Police are trying to solve the murder of a young man 24 years ago Wednesday.
An event Wednesday night hopes to provide some clues.
The victim was 23-year-old Joel Battaglia, a 1985 graduate of Catholic Central.
Days after his death, friends and volunteers passed out flyers in the Eastown neighborhood where he was last seen alive.
A documentary on his death is being unveiled Wednesday night, in hopes of sparking new leads about the crime and giving Batttaglia's parents some peace.
His mother, Gail Battaglia, said, "Everyone says he's in a better place and he's happy and he's at peace, and I do believe that. It's just that I don't have him; I don't feel him hugging me, talking to me."
The documentary premiered at the Wealthy Street Theatre Wednesday night.
The showings are free.
