Dog attacks, seriously hurts two in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- A man and a woman were hospitalized with serious bite wounds to the arms after they were attacked by a loose dog Thursday evening.

The attack happened just after 6 p.m. in the 1800 block of Stafford Avenue SW.

Grand Rapids police say the dog, a Rhodesian ridgeback, lived in the same home as the victims and belonged to the woman's mother.

The victims were taken to a hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Animal control officers captured the dog; the animal's fate was not known.
