Grand Rapids firefighters find body inside burning car

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - A badly burned person was found dead inside a burning vehicle as firefighters worked to put out the flames.

Firefighters were called around 3:20 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, to an area around Olympia Street and Grandville Avenue SW to put out a car fire, according to a Grand Rapids Police Department news release.

The car was parked in the driveway of a home on Olympia Street.

While on scene for about 20 minutes, firefighters discovered the body of a man inside. They then prompted police.

The circumstances of the man's death aren't yet known.
