Two charged in double fatal restaurant shooting

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Grand Rapids Police have charged two people after a fatal shooting in a store parking lot, where a robbery attempt also left another person dead..

The shootings took place in the early morning hours of October 31, 2013 at the New York Chicken in the 700 block of S. Division.

Delorian Alexander Taylor was shot and killed as he tried to rob a 24-year-old male, who was legally carrying a concealed weapon. A friend of the man, Dominick Floyd, was then shot by another person from a vehicle, that then left the scene. Floyd died a short time later at the hospital.

Lawrence Shannon Scott has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder, Felony Firearm, being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm and being a Habitual Offender, 4th Offense. Scott is currently in custody for an unrelated conviction and was on parole at the time of the murder.

Juwan Malik Mosley-James was charged with Discharge of a Firearm from a Motor Vehicle and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
