GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - Only minor injuries are reported in a three-car crash on Lake Michigan Drive.
Police and fire crews were called around 1:45 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at Collindale Avenue and Lake Michigan Drive NW on a report of the crash. Upon arrival, responders reported two people in two vehicles were trapped inside and needed rescue.
They each were pulled from their vehicle and taken to an area hospital for treatment, according to a fire chief at the scene.
Among the injured: a grandmother who suffered a broken leg -- her grandchild is being looked over for anything serious, the official said.
A woman in the third vehicle was able to get out OK.
High speed is considered a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
Traffic is snarled on Lake Michigan Drive, with westbound closed to motorists.
