Bridge Street Signal Tower returns to West Side

A piece of Grand Rapids history has returned to the city's West Side.

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - A piece of history has returned to the city's West Side.

The renovated Bridge Street Signal Tower, located at the corner of Bridge and Seward Avenue, was unveiled Monday, Nov. 14.

The tower was built in the early 20th century and was used to operate track switches and crossing lights. It's been abandoned since the 1980s.

Historians believe the Bridge Street tower is the last one of its kind standing in Michigan.
