Drunk driver rear-ends police cruiser

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - The driver of a white GMC has been arrested for Operating While Intoxicated after police say one of their cruisers was rear-ended.

It happened late Sunday, July 16 while the Grand Rapids Police Department was investigating a shooting that sent a 34-year-old man to the hospital. That happened on 7th Street near McReynolds Avenue, on the city's west side.

Witnesses first told WZZM 13 about the crash and officers with GRPD have since confirmed the details.

Police say the accident was completely unrelated to the shooting. No one was hurt.
