GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - Police in Grand Rapids are investigating a domestic incident on the city's West Side.
Police say they were called out to the 700 block of Van Buren at around 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18, on a report of a domestic dispute.
When police arrived, they found a 45 year-old man and a woman inside the home. Police say the man did have a knife. When he was told to drop it, he fled deeper inside the home and refused to come out.
The woman was escorted out of the home. She was not hurt.
Police set up a perimeter and attempted to bring the man out peacefully.
After about five hours, police entered the home to find the man had left the residence prior to police setting up the perimeter.
Police are still investigating the situation.
