Man shot in head, chest during drive-by

Neighbor reacts to west side shooting

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - A 34-year-old man is in critical condition at a local hospital after a shooting on the west side of Grand Rapids.

It happened at 8:57 p.m. Sunday, July 16 on 7th Street near the corner of McReynolds Avenue. Police say when they arrived, they learned the man had been shot in the head and chest.

It's early in the investigation, but so far police believe two people were standing on the porch of a home when someone drove by and shot the man twice before taking off.

Investigators are still looking for that suspect. A description of the vehicle is not available at this time.
