Greenville health care frauder sentenced in court

Christine Riess plea

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - The ex-wife of Greenville's former public safety director was sentenced for health care fraud on Thursday, even though she'll be getting out of jail.

Judge Trusock sentenced Christine Reiss, the ex-wfie of Mark Reiss, to the 50 days in jail that she's already served. She was also sentenced to probation for one year and has to do an additional 150 hours of community service.

Christine Reiss has already paid $110,000 in restitution to Blue Cross Blue Shield -- which is how much her bills totalled in the 15 months she was falsely on her ex-husband's health insurance.

Mark Reiss pleaded no contest to leaving her on his insurance after their divorce. He resigned as the public safety director in Greenville back in February.
