3 Holland area boys badly hurt in crash

PARK TOWNSHIP, MICH. - Three boys from the Holland area are in serious condition at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital after being involved in a crash near the lakeshore.

Ottawa County deputies say the boys were in a vehicle with 18-year-old Maya Tardy of Kentucky. She was trying to cross Lakeshore Drive at Riley Street, when she pulled out in front of 59-year-old Earnest Vandoornik of Holland.

The two cars collided around 1:18 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19. Deputies say Tardy did not yield the right of way to Vandoornik.

Tardy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Vandoornik was not hurt.

The boys were ages 11, 9 and 6. Again, they were in serious condition at last check.
