3 year old critically hurt in 4-car crash

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, MICH. - A 3 year old is in critical condition after the car she was in was rear ended in Holland Township.

The accident happened shortly after 1 p.m.on 136th Avenue near River Road on Tuesday, July 18.

Ottawa County deputies say three vehicles were stopped at a red light when a GMC pickup, driven by 21-year-old Francisco Ramirez-Pablo, did not stop.

The child was in a car seat in the back of a Chevy Cruze, it was the first car hit by Ramirez-Pablo's truck.

The impact caused a chain-reaction, where the Cruze hit the car in front of it, causing that vehicle to hit the car in front of it.

Deputies say the toddler was pinned in the vehicle and had to be extricated before being airlifted to DeVos Children's Hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the Cruze and a front seat passenger were both taken to the hospital with injuries. Ramirez-Pablo was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. The drivers of the other two vehicles were not injured.
